Black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia fulgida)   about anne

The garden design industry gets busy by March so the best time to plan your garden is in fall or winter. Supplies and labour are in high demand come spring, so long waits are not uncommon if you don’t plan in advance. Besides, designers love to get creative by a warm winter fire, dreaming up delightful summer gardens. Here's how the process typically works.

Consultation
Anne starts each project with an initial consultation to determine her clients' desires for the garden space. She then assesses the natural elements of the site such as the climate, soil, drainage, and existing vegetation and structures.

Design
After the consultation process is complete, Anne creates a preliminary garden design with her clients budget in mind. This early design is an opportunity for her clients to conceptualize on paper what the space will look like. The client can then make further recommendations or requests before a final design is completed. Take a look at some samples.

Implementation
Once the design process is complete, Anne works with a number of professionals to create your garden habitat. Depending on the complexity of the design, Anne may incorporate any number of the following services:

  • Pond work
  • Stone work
  • Masonry
  • Irrigation
  • Lighting
  • Carpentry
  • Plant sourcing
  • Excavation
  • Arborist services & reports
  • Custom metal work
